AJ Styles WWE Rumors: Vince McMahon Can't Sign Star Until End Of Year [VIDEO]

The WWE wants to sign AJ Styles to a deal, but Vince McMahon and company will have to wait until the end of the year.

There has been a lot of speculation that the WWE has changed their tune on Styles, similarly to Samoa Joe after they recently inked him, and that they want to sign him to a deal. The company is looking to accrue as much talent as possible to supplement NXT and the main roster.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, even though the WWE's interest level in Styles has changed, nothing will happen between the two sides anytime soon because the former TNA Heavyweight Champion is under contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling until the end of the year.

It's unknown if Styles is interested in following Joe's footsteps by signing with the WWE as the IWGP Heavyweight Champion has repeatedly said that NJPW is his home now, but anything can happen for the right amount of money.

Styles was also reportedly offered a spot in TNA's Hall of Fame that would have seen him work the Slammiversary and Bound For Glory events. The deal was reportedly very lucrative, but Styles turned it down out of loyalty to NJPW. He also has continued to work for Ring of Honor.

Styles, 37, was a key part of TNA from 2002-14, but after contract talks between the two sides hit a wall last December, he decided to part ways with the company after nearly 12 years in Carter's organization.

There were reports at the time of the negotiations that Styles felt insulted by the company's offer and approach to the talks.

Styles later revealed that TNA offered him as much as $220,000 a year to stay with them, but he opted to become a free agent and return to the independent circuit, re-joining ROH and NJPW.

Styles is a three-time NWA Heavyweight Champion and two-time TNA Heavyweight Champion among his list of accolades through the years in the ring, but it's unknown if he'll jump to the WWE.
