Los Angeles Dodgers Rumors: L.A. To Acquire Johnny Cueto or David Price? Elite Pitching On Wishlist [VIDEO]

The Los Angeles Dodgers have had their fair share of injuries to their rotation and now they're looking for some elite arms to make up for it.

David Price Calls All-Star Game Fan Voting A 'Joke'

According to ESPN, the Dodgers sent out a memo to their scouts telling them to keep an eye on a long list of potential starting pitching candidates ahead of next month's MLB trade deadline.

Per the report, the list includes such big names as Detroit Tigers left-hander David Price, Cincinnati Reds ace Johnny Cueto and Washington Nationals hard-throwing Jordan Zimmermann.

Breaking Down Who Should Start At 1B For The AL In The All-Star Game

Having lost Brandon McCarthy and Hyun-Jin Ryu to season-ending injuries, Los Angeles is looking to beef up its rotation for a potential playoff run.

The Dodgers are led by the versatile arms of reigning National League Cy Young Award and Most Valuable Player Award winner Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke, who is having a tremendous season, but the team is looking to shore up the middle and bottom of its rotation.

Los Angeles has a plethora of prospects and young players that it could deal in a potential trade, but there's a long way to go until the July 31 deadline and it is uncertain at this time what they'd have to part with in order to land one of those elite pitchers.

The Dodgers are 35-25 thus far this season and own a one-game lead over the defending World Series champion San Francisco Giants (34-27) in what will likely be a tight National League West race the rest of the way.

Los Angeles is looking for its third straight NL West crown, but just winning the division isn't good enough for a club with this much talent.

The Dodgers haven't been to the World Series since winning it all in 1988 and have had two straight postseasons end in disappointment.

L.A. lost to the Cardinals in six games in the NLCS in 2013 and then was eliminated by St. Louis again, three-games-to-one, in the 2014 NLDS.

In order to reverse their fortunes, the Dodgers could be looking to acquire some top-notch pitching by the deadline.
