Bayern Munich Transfer News: Thomas Muller Rejects £120 Million, Pep Guardiola Pressures Bastian Schweinsteiger and More

Manchester United's obsession with silly season has made its way to Germany. Two of Bayern Munich's key cogs have been linked with a departure to Old Trafford this summer, while a welcomed addition is joining from Ukraine.

Below is all the latest transfer news and updates surrounding the reigning Bundesliga champions.

Bastian Schweinsteiger

It's put up or shutup time for Bastian Schweinsteiger. The 30-year-old—who has one year left on his contract—is being targeted by his former manager Louis van Gaal at Manchester United. According to the Mirror, van Gaal is preparing a bid that could be worth around £15 million.

His current boss, Pep Guardiola, is awaiting a decision sooner rather than later.

"Of course I am planning to work with Basti next season," said Guardiola. "But he must decide what he does alone. I've told him: 'The future depends on you.' Basti has managed a great career, but he has to decide."

Thomas Muller

One player United won't be able to pry away from Munich is Thomas Muller. According to the Express, the German international is being offered a package worth £120 in fees and wages over a five-year deal.

Despite being flattered, the offer wasn't enough to register on Muller's radar.

"When you get an offer, you consider it automatically," he said. "A request by a big club is an honor and appreciation that your output was good, but I feel fine at Bayern and my contract runs until 2019."

"There is nothing more to say about this speculation."

Douglas Costa

Adding to the attack, Bayern Munich have agreed to terms with Shakhtar Donetsk for midfielder Douglas Costa. Per The Guardian, the Brazilian international will move to the Bundesliga for £21.3 million.

"Shakhtar Donetsk and Bayern Munich have agreed all the necessary formalities regarding Douglas Costa's move to the German club. The transfer fee for the Brazilian midfielder is €30m," read a statement from Shakhtar Donetsk. "Shakhtar thanks Douglas for the time spent in the team and wishes him every success with the new club."
