Rusev & Summer Rae WWE Rumors: Dolph Ziggler Likely Off T.V. For Several Weeks [VIDEO]

Dolph Ziggler didn't appear on Monday Night RAW this week and it appears as though The Showoff will be off of television for several weeks.

Divas React To Huge Segment Involving NXT Ladies On RAW

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Ziggler was not backstage during the company's flagship show Monday night in Atlanta and he isn't expected to appear on RAW or SmackDown for several weeks.

Ziggler was written off of television when Rusev was booked to savagely attack him last week on RAW, ending the segment by hitting the four-time Intercontinental Champion's throat with a crutch.

The WWE then gave a kayfabe update, saying that Ziggler suffered a serious throat injury and that he would be out "indefinitely."

There's no telling what impact this has on Lana as the Ravishing Russian had been by Ziggler's side ever since her split with Rusev earlier this year.

The Showoff was slated for a bout with the Bulgarian Brute, but Rusev suffered a legitimate foot injury, which led to the Super Athlete wearing boots upon his return and the match being postponed.

The mighty Russian was cleared to return last week, which is what led to him revealing he is healthy and then taking out Ziggler.

Now that Rusev is healthy and has Summer Rae on his side to feud with Lana, it seemed as though the WWE was building toward a rivalry between both sides.

Ziggler, however, has been written off of television so there has still been no match between the two despite months of feuding.

Ziggler being written off of television could have something to do with his murky contract status as he still hasn't re-signed with the WWE, leading to a lot of speculation that he may leave the company, even after there was initial speculation that he signed a new deal, which proved to be false.

It seems the show will go on without Ziggler for the foreseeable future.
