It may be over mere months after it was rumored to have begun.
The rumored romance between Houston Texans defensive end and NFL Defensive Player of the Year JJ Watt and Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki could be enduring a new rumor - that the relationship is over.
Rumors of a relationship surfaced when Wozniacki accompanied Watt to the NCAA men's basketball championship game in April and was reaffirmed when Watt was in Paris with Wozniacki for the French Open.
But a couple of warning signs surfaced this week to cast doubt on the relationship. First, Wozniacki posted a photo on Instagram she titled "Birthday celebrations" on July 11 that included four others - none of which was Watt.

Wozniacki turned 25.
A more telling sign came when reports surfaced that Watt met his childhood crush, Jenifer Aniston, on Monday in Los Angeles. He even posed with her.
"I'm thankful for how cool she was. I was absolutely the farthest from cool you could absolutely be," Watt said, according to the New York Post.
"I shook her hand instead of hugging her," he said, joking, "then I left the room without proposing. It was a complete disaster."
The Post noted that the former "Friends" star is engaged to actor-writer Justin Theroux. Watt lamented his lost his chance at his crush.
"That dream has been dead for a while, which is fine, but I can still joke about it," Watt said, before reportedly adding that he doesn't have a girlfriend.
Wozniacki had a pair of unusual news conferences at Wimbledon, in which she was not happy with the line of questioning, and her mood swings could be forgiven if she and Watt had a falling out.
She got testy when a reporter asked questions about her upcoming foe. Later another reporter asked for a comment on ex-fiancée Rory McIlroy's injured ankle that abruptly ended the news conference.
Watt's free time is about to expire as he prepares for training camp with the Texans as the 2015 season approaches. Wozniacki now will work in preparation for the U.S. Open in New York at the end of August and the beginning of September.
