Amar’e Stoudemire To Judge Atlantic City Miss America Pageant With Josh Bell, Mario Cantone, Carla Hall, Barbara Corcoran

Amar’e Stoudemire has signed on to be a judge at the Miss America Pageant next month in Atlantic City.

Stoudemire will join Grammy-Award winning violinist Joshua Bell, comedian Mario Cantone, chef Carla Hall and “Shark Tank” reality show investor Barbara Corcoran as panelists.

After being held the last six years in Las Vegas, the pageant is returning to its original Boardwalk home this year and the New York starring Knicks forward is being saluted as a headline attraction.

Besides judging the pageant, Stoudemire is spending his summer recuperating from offseason knee surgery. The Knicks are on record in asserting they plan to play their $100 million dollar forward just 20 minutes per a game this season in an effort to keep him healthy for the duration of the year.

Stoudemire averaged 14 points and five rebounds a game last season on a career low 24 minutes a night. In all, he played in just 29 games, but shot nearly 58 percent from the field.

Despite a somewhat limited role, the Knicks are counting on Stoudemire to anchor a second unit that could include fellow veterans Kenyon Martin, J.R. Smith, Beno Udrih, Andrea Bargnani. Rookie guard Tim Hardaway Jr. is also thought to be in the mix.

Stoudemire has two seasons remaining on the five-year free agent deal he signed with the Knicks during the summer of 2010.
