Inter Milan Transfer News: Mario Balotelli Return Rejected, Felipe Melo Eyes Serie A Return and More

Mateo Kovacic won't join Christian Benteke in Liverpool according to his agent. Unfortunately, Mario Balotelli won't be joining Kovacic at Inter Milan, either.

Below are all the latest transfer rumors surrounding the Nerazzurri.

Mateo Kovacic

Liverpool made a strong bid for Kovacic, offering Milan £21.3 million for his services. According to the 21-year-old's agent, however, there is no intention of departing the San Siro.

"Mateo is very happy at Inter and will not leave," Vuksan told FcInterNews.it (via the Daily Star). "This is for certain. We just renewed his contract to 2019 and therefore there is nothing more to add. His first outings in a new position went well and I'm happy for him."

"What about Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool interest? It was just rumors," he added. "Simple gossip put about by various media outlets."

"There was no truth in it. Mateo is staying at Inter."

Mario Balotelli

Mario Balotelli hasn't exactly endeared himself with Liverpool supporters. As if his poor goal scoring form wasn't enough—Balotelli finished his first campaign at Anfield with just 1 league goal in 940 minutes—the 24-year-old took it a step further after supporting Raheem Sterling in his Manchester City debut.

An ugly divorce awaits Balotelli and his club, but Inter Milan won't be around to pick up the pieces.

According to Calciomercato (via ESPN FC), Milan has decided against bringing Balotelli to the San Siro.

Felipe Melo

The same cannot be said for Felipe Melo.

According to Turkish outlet Hurriyet (via ESPN FC), the former Fiorentina and Juventus player is unhappy in Istanbul and is desperate to play in Italy again. Inter Milan is his first choice.

"If I were able to go to Inter, that would be the best thing for me," Melo said. "My family's not happy in Turkey, and we don't want to stay here."
