Real Madrid Transfer News: Cristiano Ronaldo Manchester United Return, Karim Benzema '1,000 Percent' Happy and More

The Premier League's desire to lure away talent from the Spanish capital continues, but to no avail. Especially in the case of Karim Benzema, who had his agent confirm his future at Real Madrid.

Below are all the latest transfer rumors surrounding Los Blancos.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Much like John McClane, Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Manchester United is the rumor that refuses to die.

According to Manchester Evening News, United are working on a new club-record deal that would bring Ronaldo back to Old Trafford six years after he joined Madrid for £80 million. Per the report, the club explored the possibility of signing Ronaldo during David Moyes' first tenure in 2013.

"There was talk of Ronaldo when I first arrived," Moyes said in 2014. "We were close to getting a couple of major names."

Except Ronaldo was never one of them. His contract in Madrid runs until 2018.

Karim Benzema

The other persistent rumor surrounding Madrid is Arsenal's attempt to acquire Karim Benzema. The 27-year-old's agent put that to rest in an interview with Sky Sports on Thursday.

"Karim is very happy at Real Madrid and he will be a Real Madrid player by the end of this transfer window, 1,000 percent," he told Sky Sports News HQ chief news reporter Bryan Swanson. "Karim is not looking to move anywhere this summer."

Arsenal were reportedly interested in a £40 million deal.

Sergio Ramos Update

According to The Guardian, club president Florentino Perez and chief executive Jose Angel Sanchez will hold talks with Sergio Ramos in China this weekend. Though the center-back has voiced his desire to transfer to Manchester United, the club brass will tell him they do not want to sell him.

Manager Rafa Benitez went as far as saying that Ramos is staying regardless of foreign interest.

"For me, 100 percent [he's staying]," Benitez said (via The Guardian). "I insist that it is clear for me and the club, Sergio will be here. Football is a curious world, but Ramos will be staying."
