New York Jets Rumors: Geno Smith Laughs At Being Ranked Worst QB In Poll, 'It's Hilarious' [VIDEO]

There aren't many pundits that believe in Geno Smith, but at least the third-year quarterback is finding humor in it.

ESPN released a poll where 35 NFL insiders ranked each starting quarterback in the league and for the second year in a row, Smith was dead last at No. 32.

Smith was asked about the ranking on Wednesday and said he found the annual quarterback poll humorous.

"I laugh at it," Smith said on the first day the Jets reported to training camp, according to ESPN. "It's hilarious. ... I laughed last year, too."

The quarterback said he worked hard in the offseason and that he is hoping to remedy the hiccups that have plagued him through his first two campaigns in the league.

Smith led the Jets to an abysmal 4-12 record a season ago, which resulted in the dismissal of head coach Rex Ryan and general manager John Idzik.

Gang Green brought in Todd Bowles to replace Ryan and Mike Maccagnan to serve as the new GM, but it seems a change at the most important position in the sport isn't coming.

Bowles has hinted at a competition between Smith and offseason acquisition Ryan Fitzpatrick, but it is expected that barring a complete preseason collapse or injury, Smith with be under center on Sept. 13 when the team hosts the Cleveland Browns for Opening Day.

Smith believes in his abilities to turn things around despite entering the 2015-16 campaign with more career interceptions (34) than touchdowns (25).

"I just think I've been improving overall," Smith said. "Going into my third year, I'm definitely a different player than when I came in. I'm definitely a different guy. I'm not taking anything for granted."

Smith, 24, went 219-for-367 (59.7 percent) last season while throwing for 2,525 yards and adding 13 scores and 13 picks in a forgettable campaign.

The Jets have high hopes this year after re-acquiring cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromarte in the offseason and adding Brandon Marshall in a trade with the Chicago Bears to pair up with Eric Decker as Smith's primary weapons.

Still, until he proves that he can turn a corner in his young career, insiders will rank Smith dead last.
