Prior to the MLB non-waiver trade deadline at 4 p.m. ET on Friday, there has already been plenty of movement throughout the league.
Several losing teams have dispatched some of their marquee players and stocked up on prospects to ready themselves for 2016 while other clubs that are in the mix pulled big moves to make their rosters even better in the hunt for October.
A lot of big names have move around already and here are our four biggest winners heading into the deadline.
4) Texas Rangers
Though the Rangers (49-52) are eight games out in the division and four contests back in the wild-card with plenty of teams to hop over, they made a huge splash on Thursday.
After years of rumors, the Philadelphia Phillies finally parted ways with Cole Hamels, trading him to the Rangers who will now add him to the top of their rotation. When Yu Darvish (Tommy John surgery) returns, Texas will have quite the 1-2 punch spearheading its rotation.
Hamels, 31, is 6-7 with a 3.64 ERA this season.
3) Kansas City Royals
The defending American League champions are going for it and the current AL Central leaders made plenty of moves to improve their roster heading into the dog days of the season. The Royals (61-40) own an eight-game lead over the Minnesota Twins atop the standings.
Kansas City acquired Johnny Cueto from the Cincinnati Reds and then followed suit by landing super utility man Ben Zobrist from the Oakland Athletics.
Cueto, 29, is 7-6 this season with a 2.62 ERA while Zobrist, 34, is hitting .268/.354/.447 with six homers and 33 RBI.
2) Houston Astros
After six straight losing seasons and a decade outside of the playoff picture, the Astros have stocked up as they look to get to the postseason for the first time since losing the World Series in 2005.
The Astros (58-45) are in the midst of a back-and-forth race with the Los Angeles Angels and own a two-game lead over them for first place in the AL West standings.
Houston brought in Scott Kazmir to join Dallas Keuchel atop its rotation and then acquired outfielder Carlos Gomez (who the New York Mets declined to add at the last minute) and pitcher Mike Fiers from the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday.
Kazmir, 31, is 6-5 with an AL-best 2.10 ERA while Gomez, 29, is hitting .262/.328/.423 with eight homers and 43 RBI. Fiers, 30, is 5-9 with a 3.89 ERA.
1) Toronto Blue Jays
The MLB's lone Canadian representative made a splash with a shocking blockbuster trade earlier this week that saw it trade shortstop Jose Reyes to the Colorado Rockies for fellow shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. LaTroy Hawkins also came over from the Rockies in the deal.
The Blue Jays (52-51) are six games behind the New York Yankees for first in the AL East and two games back in the wild-card race. Toronto shored up its pitching by landing Detroit Tigers southpaw David Price, ending the myriad rumors that surrounded the left-hander.
Tulowitzki, 30, homered in his debut and is hitting .302/.350/.483 as he joins one of the most potent lineups in the majors while Hawkins, 42, is 2-1 with a 3.33 ERA in his final season. Price, 29, is 9-4 with a 2.53 ERA on the campaign.
