ROCKIES vs CARDINALS Watch FREE Live Stream Online & Listen: Colorado at St. Louis Preview

Tonight at 8:15 p.m. ET, the Colorado Rockies (43-57) and St. Louis Cardinals (65-37) take the field at Busch Stadium for the second contest of a four-game series.

Colorado has dropped two straight games as it enters the final leg of a seven-match road trip while St. Louis has lost two of its last three outings as it continues an 11-game homestand.

The Cardinals overcame a two-run deficit and put up a three-spot in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat the Rockies if walk-off fashion in the series-opener on Thursday.

Matt Carpenter hit two homers for St. Louis in its win on Thursday, notching Nos. 11 and 12 on the season. Carpenter is fifth in the National League with 54 walks this season.

Chris Rusin (1) and Nick Hundley (8) each had round-trippers for Colorado in the loss.

Kyle Kendrick (4-11, 6.33 ERA) toes the rubber for the Rockies while the Cardinals counter with Michael Wacha and he is 11-4 with a 3.27 ERA on the campaign.

Both of these teams were busy prior to Friday's trade deadline with Colorado adding Jose Reyes and the St. Louis acquiring Jonathan Broxton and Brandon Moss.

Despite losing Troy Tulowitzki in the trade that brought in Reyes, the Rockies have plenty of weapons in their lineup. Nolan Arenado leads the NL with 78 RBI while DJ LeMahieu is fifth in the NL with a .335 batting average and Charlie Blackmon is fourth in the Senior Circuit with 62 runs.

Though they lost Matt Holliday (right quad) to the disabled list, the Cardinals boast a solid lineup that is paced by shortstop Jhonny Peralta, who leads the team in batting average (.286), homers (14) and RBI (51, tied with Carpenter).

In the standings, St. Louis is atop the NL Central with a 5.5-game lead over the Pittsburgh Pirates while Colorado is in last place in the NL West, 13 games behind the division-leading Los Angeles Dodgers and 12.5 games back in the wild-card hunt.

With deadline day over with, the Rockies and Cardinals clash live from Busch Stadium tonight in St. Louis.
