In honor of the man who once said, "I came to kick ass and chew bubblegum and I'm all out of bubblegum," here are Piper's five best moments in the WWE

5) A Rowdy Return

In 2009, Piper returned to the WWE ring to team up with fellow legends Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat to take on Chris Jericho in a handicap at WrestleMania XXV. While the bout is remembered for Steamboat stealing the show, it was great to see Piper back where he belongs, in the squared circle at WrestleMania.

4) The Coconut Incident

In one of the most classic moments in WWE history, Piper had Jimmy Snuka on his Piper's Pit talk show in 1984 for a controversial segment. The Hot Rod brought out coconuts and bananas to insult Snuka's Polynesian heritage. Superfly understandably took offense and the segment ended with Piper memorably knocking him over the head with a coconut and rubbing it in his face. The segment was way ahead of its time as Piper continued to take things to the next level.

3) Championship Glory

Hot Rod etched his name in the annals of WWE history when he captured his first and only singles title in Vince McMahon's company. Piper defeated The Mountie at the Royal Rumble on Jan. 19, 1992, capturing the Intercontinental Championship. This result led to arguably Piper's best match in the WWE when he faced Bret "Hitman" Hart at WrestleMania VIII later that year for the gold.

2) WrestleMania Headliner

Piper was a vital part of the inaugural WrestleMania in 1985, serving as the top heel in the main event match. Piper teamed up with Paul Orndorff to battle Hulk Hogan and Mr. T in a losing effort. Though he lost, the Rowdy one helped shape the greatest franchise in the history of wrestling that day at The World's Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden.

1) Hall of Fame Hot Rod

Piper took his rightful place in wrestling lore when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 on the eve of WrestleMania 21. The induction culminated the wrestling career of one of the greatest Superstars to ever grace the WWE.
