WWE SmackDown [SPOILERS], Results for Aug. 6, 2015: Roman Reigns vs. Rusev and More [VIDEO]

Reports indicate that the following was taped Tuesday night in Sacramento, Calif. for the episode of SmackDown that is set to air this Thursday as the road to SummerSlam continues.

In the main event, Roman Reigns defeated Rusev to close out the show. The leader of the Roman Empire also opened up the episode and cut a promo on Bray Wyatt before being interrupted by the Bulgarian Brute, who announced their clash for later in the evening.

There was also a tribute to late WWE Hall of Famer "Rowdy" Roddy Piper to open up the show. Piper, whose real name is Roderick Toombs, passed away due to cardiac arrest on Friday.

In other action, Mark Henry and the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions, The Prime Time Players, overcame The New Day in a six-man tag team match while Stardust topped Zack Ryder in a one-on-one encounter.

In Divas action, Charlotte took on Naomi, but the match was stopped due to outside interference and a tag team match was made pitting Charlotte and Becky Lynch against Naomi and Sasha Banks.

The Team B.A.D. representatives defeated the members of The Submission Sorority in the ensuing contest.

This episode of SmackDown continued the hype to SummerSlam.
