LeBron James Gets Miami Police Assist, Escort Service To Jay Z Concert

Being LeBron James has its advantages.

The two-time defending NBA champion and reigning league MVP posted a video of him following “a police escort on the wrong side of the street,” just so he could get to Miami’s Sun Life Stadium in time to witness a Jay Z, Justin Timberlake Friday night concert.

According to ESPN, the near ten second video captures James’ vehicle behind a cadre of others, police lights flashing, as oncoming traffic on the three-lane side of the road allowed them to pass.

“They treat us so well,” James later posted on his Instagram account. “Needed it cause traffic was nuts.”

James’ exultations about just what it means to be The King are somewhat different in tone from the mini-rant he recently voiced on Facebook where he bemoaned all the struggles and sacrifices he’s forced to endure based on his celebrity.

“Man it’s hard to go out and have a good time these days,” James wrote. “It’s cool though, it’s part of my life. Wouldn’t change anything just saying. Been in the spotlight since I was 15. Sometimes u just wanna STOP!! But I refuse cause I have a commitment to the youth to inspire them. That will keep me pushing forward and focused alone.”

Just last week reports surfaced that James was forced to tell people he was partying at a club with to put their phones away and just have a good time.
