Robert Griffin-Mike Shanahan Feud Update: Washington Redskins Coach Jokingly Tells Quarterback To Enter Preseason Game (WATCH)

Perhaps, the relationship between Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan and quarterback Robert Griffin III isn't that bad after all.

Tensions mounted last week after Griffin complained that he didn't understand Shanahan's decision to use a conservative approach in dealing with Griffin's knee injury during the offseason. Griffin had surgery in the offseason to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee after injuring twice in the last month of the 2012 season.

Shanahan has not allowed Griffin to play in any preseason games.

But a Vine account belonging to @johnchoe caught Shanahan in a light-hearted moment at the expense of his star quarterback. The video shows Shanahan calling Griffin over during the Redskins' preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Shanahan is shown motioning to the field and mouthing the words "Want to go in?"

Griffin reacts excitedly, putting his hand on Shanahan's arm, when Shanahan then mouths the words "No, no, I'm joking. I'm joking."

Another Vine account, @recordsANDradio, then shows Shanahan and Griffin laughing about the incident.

Speculation had been rampant that the coach and player do not get along, which could be problematic for the duo as well as the Redskins.

Former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck told the Washington Post that he doesn't find the issues raised during the past week particularly troubling but wonders why the differences were aired through the media.

"Is it awful to have guys disagree? No," said Hasselbeck, an NFL analyst for ESPN. "But I think it would be better just to have these guys yell at each other on the field, scream at each other on the sideline and then go back to the locker room and laugh about it than doing it through the media. Where's the line of communication?"
