Manchester United Transfer News: Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez Out After £22 Million Pedro Deal [VIDEO]

Don't believe everything you hear, especially if you're Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez. After much speculation, the 27-year-old was told by manager Louis van Gaal he would support Wayne Rooney as the club's secondary striker, per The Daily Mail.

Not 24 hours later, contradicting reports emerged.

Barcelona Demanding £22 Million For Pedro

Despite being named to United's Champions League roster, Hernandez will be sold upon the arrival of Pedro from Barcelona, per Marca. Van Gaal's decision to include the Mexican international in his European roster is being viewed as a tactic to increase the pressure on potential suitors.

Should Hernandez feature in the Champions League playoff against Club Brugge, he will be cup-tied and unable to compete with his next club in European competition.

Chicharito Considering Season-Long Torino Loan

That, however, is of no concern to West Ham United.

The Hammers were eliminated from Europa League qualifying and face only domestic competition this campaign. Manager Slaven Bilic admires Hernandez's game, but is still unsure of his transfer status.

"There's no clear answer whether he's for sale or not," Bilic said, per talksport.com. "Some people are saying he's not for sale. Now the situation is that, not from Man United. Some people think he's not for sale, others say he's not for sale until they buy."

"Too many ifs, buts," he added. "Of course, he's a good player."

West Ham are still reportedly preparing a £12 million offer. Having lost Enner Valencia to injury (knee) and Raul Jimenez to Benfica, it's imperative the Hammers secure Hernandez to bolster their front line.
