Lenny Dykstra Out of Prison, Talks New Outlook On Life

Recently released from prison after serving a 15-month sentence for bankruptcy fraud, former major league player Lenny Dykstra says he has a new outlook on life and is moving forward.

Dykstra recently gave his first interview since being released last June, telling FYI Sports Talk hosts Robert Fick and Dmitri Young "In a crazy way, going to prison when I did, it actually kind of made me realize what's important. I'm not recommending anybody go to prison to find your life, but to me, it was rock bottom. The next step from prison is death, if you think about it. There's nothing worse you can do to a person then lock them up---take away their freedom."

Dykstra also recently held his first formal autograph-signing session, hosting a June event in White Plains, NY. where he was open to signing "anything" for $25.

Before filing for bankruptcy, Dykstra got involved in stock trading and became somewhat of a celebrity Wall Street prognosticator. He also started Player's Club, a magazine geared toward high-minded athletes.

By the time of his bankruptcy filing, he owed more than $10 million to J.P.Morgan Chase, Bank of America and other creditors and was also forced to auction off the $17/5 million home he once purchased from NHL Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky.
