When you're the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, you're going to garner some attention from the opposing defense. When you dance and flaunt your success, you're going to become a target, and Giants wideout Odell Beckham Jr. understands it.
Victor Cruz created some buzz when he said he believed the Jaguars defensive backs were "gunning for" Beckham by going after the flashy receiver instead of the ball in Saturday's preseason matchup.

Beckham agreed that he had to slow up on some plays to avoid the risk of getting injured in an exhibition game that saw New York defeat Jacksonville, 22-12, but he also believes in some ways he's brought in on himself.
"I know it may be a little bit self-inflicted," Beckham said Wednesday, according to ESPN. "I can rub a lot of people the wrong way if they don't know me. I'm sure a lot of it is caused by me dancing and having fun. I know I wouldn't want somebody breaking up a pass and dancing in my face.

"I can understand why things may be the way they are. I'm just going to have to handle it."
Beckham has vowed to continue his celebratory ways and he has been talked to by coach Tom Coughlin about handling himself on the field when he gets into intense physical battles. The former LSU receiver got into it Jaguars safety Sergio Brown on his final play of the game after the two got tangled up on a deep play. Beckham ended up pushing Brown out of bounds.
There are high expectations for Beckham this year after he burst on the scene as a rookie in 2014 and made an immediate impact. Beckham had 91 receptions for 1,305 yards last season and scored 12 touchdowns despite being limited to 12 games due to a hamstring injury.
With his exuberant personality, Beckham is likely to be a target all season long, but the receiver is fine with it.
"At the end of the day, its football," Beckham said, "and you're going to get hit."
The Giants open up their regular season on Sept. 13 on "Sunday Night Football" against the rival Cowboys as they look to make it to the playoffs for the first time since winning the Super Bowl to cap the 2011 season.
