Manchester United Transfer News: Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez Joins Bayer Leverkusen In £12 Million Deal [VIDEO]

Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez's transfer saga is finally over. The 27-year-old has joined Bayer Leverkusen in a £12 million deal, per the Daily Mail. The transfer sees Hernandez join the Bundesliga side on a three-year deal.

Why Chicharito Should Return To Chivas Guadalajara

The biggest complication to this transfer revolves around Champions League. Both Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen qualified for the group stage of the tournament. Hernandez regrettably made an appearance against Club Brugge in a playoff qualifier.

His miss from point-blank range is still in orbit.

In previous years, Hernandez's appearance with United would prevent him from featuring for Leverkusen in Champions League. A revision to the law, however, overturned that previous stipulation.

Law 42.07 is written as such:

"As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition for more than one club in the course of the same season. Exceptionally, however, a player who has been fielded in the first, second, third qualifying round or the playoffs of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League is entitled to play in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League for another club as from the group stage."

United were drawn into Group B, while Leverkusen will feature in Group E against the likes of Barcelona and AS Roma.

All that's left now is for the two to cross paths in the knockout rounds, and to have Hernandez eliminate his former club.
