Sting WWE Rumors: Backstage News On 'The Vigilante's' Possible 'RAW' Role [VIDEO]

After shocking the world on the WWE's flagship show last week, "The Vigilante" is set to return to Monday Night RAW.

The WWE revealed that Sting will kick off RAW this week, and more speculation about what his role will be has been circulating. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are likely to give Seth Rollins his statue Monday night and there are rumors surfacing that Sting may end up smashing Rollins' likeness, according to Wrestlingheadlines.com.

Nikki Bella Addresses Rumors Of John Cena's Politics Keeping Divas Title On Her

The reigning WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion said he wanted a statue at WWE headquarters in Stanford, Conn., if he defeated John Cena in their winner-take-all match at SummerSlam. "The Game" and his wife tried to deliver on the request last week, but when the curtain was raised, Sting was underneath and there was no site of the statue.

Sting attacked Rollins on last week's show, setting up their WWE World Heavyweight Championship clash at Night of Champions on Sept. 20 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Tex. Now, it is likely that the two executives will once again try to give Rollins the statue, only for it to be sabotaged by the former WCW and TNA icon.

5 Possible Outcomes To Sting Vs. Seth Rollins At Night Of Champions

Rollins tweeted about Sting's appearance on RAW to increase the intensity in the feud:

WWE.com also teased that the statue may be present this week on the WWE's flagship show as well.

"There's still the matter of Rollins' missing statue, which was to be unveiled last Monday night before Sting's ambush," the company teased on its website. "Will 'The Future of WWE' reclaim his bronze likeness this week?"

Sting is set to wrestle in just his second match in the WWE after losing to Triple H at WrestleMania 31 at Levi's Stadium on March 29 in his highly-anticipated debut.

Analysis: While the whole thing with the statue is a bit ridiculous, the WWE will draw a lot of attention by advertising Sting this week ahead of time instead of keeping it a secret. It remains to be seen if making the audience aware of Sting's involvement will translate to a ratings increase, but he is quite a draw for the WWE.

"The Vigilante" is such a draw that the WWE is banking on its fans overlooking the fact that the TNA Hall of Famer lost his lone match in the WWE, but is still somehow able to become No. 1 contender by simply attacking the champion. Someone like Zack Ryder should take a note from Sting and simply just attack Rollins to increase his standing in the company.
