Real Madrid Transfer News: David De Gea Acquired From Manchester United In €35 Million Deal [VIDEOS]

After months of speculation, goalkeeper David De Gea has landed with Real Madrid on a transfer.

Manchester United has agreed to send De Gea to Real Madrid for a fee of around €35 million, according to ESPN FC.

De Gea, 24, has been rumored to end up with Real for months, and reports out of England and Spain claim that he may land with the club prior to the Spanish transfer window closing at midnight local time Monday. United has shown some interest in Real goalkeeper Keylor Navas, but nothing has materialized on that front yet.

It is believed that Real is looking to move the goalkeeper, but he hasn't shown a willingness to leave Madrid. It's a bit of a curious move to land De Gea, considering the club already had Navas, who is a World Cup hero with Costa Rica. On top of that, Navas hasn't conceded a goal yet this season and saved a penalty on Saturday (see video below).

Regardless of Navas' past performances, talks between the two clubs for De Gea increased over the weekend and De Gea's agent, Jorge Mendes, went as far as to reassure Real president Florentino Perez that a deal would happen.

It was previously believed that United would stand pat for most of the summer, but things changed with the deal on Monday.

De Gea's contract is up in 2016 and he didn't sign a lucrative deal that Manchester offered him earlier this year. The goalkeeper cost Manchester £18 million when he arrived in 2011 and was voted their player of the year for the second straight season.
