Lamar Odom has now been missing for more than three days and family-members fear he may be on a cocaine binge, TMZ reported on Aug. 25.
The website adds the husband of reality TV star Khloe Kardashian has been on hardcore drugs for at least the last two years with crack cocaine reportedly being his drug of choice. According to TMZ, with the aid of his wife, Odom checked into a San Diego-based drug treatment center last year but abruptly left the facility after just three weeks of treatment.
During that time, the 29-year-old Kardashian allegedly hired a private investigator to stand guard outside her husband’s room in an effort to keep him from leaving, according to TMZ.
Amazingly, Odom was able to play in all 82 games for the Los Angeles Clippers last season without any reported relapses, but after the season ended TMZ reports “he slipped deep back into hardcore recreational drugs.”
According to TMZ, the NBA veteran has not responded to any calls from either his blood family or the Kardashian clan in the last 72 hours. In addition, family members reportedly staged an intervention last week that Odom allegedly resisted, leading to his wife throwing him out of their California home, TMZ added.
It’s been a summer of discontent for Odom, whose marriage is rumored to be on the rocks amid growing allegations of infidelity on his part, according to TMZ. The website has previously reported that over the last several weeks, 29-year-old Washington stripper Jennifer Richardson and California attorney Polina Polonsky have both claimed they engaged in longtime affairs with him.
