Mike Tyson, "On Verge Of Dying," Talks About Drug Use, Being An Alcoholic [VIDEO]

Where former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson is concerned, looks can certainly be deceiving.

Tyson, who recently lost more than 100 pounds and embarked on a new career as a dapper and refined fight promoter, readily admits he’s still facing his ugliest battle of all. During a press conference at the Turning Stone Resort in Central New York, Tyson recently revealed he’s still fighting drug and alcohol problems and his addictions may be worse than ever, according to USA Today Sports.

“I’m on the verge of dying,” the 47-year-old Tyson the newspaper, adding “I’m a bad guy sometimes. I did a lot of bad things, and I want to be forgiven. So in order for me to be forgiven, I hope they can forgive me. I wanna change my life, I wanna live a different life now. I wanna live my life sober. I don’t wanna die… because I’m a vicious alcoholic.”

Tyson later added that he’s only been free of drugs and alcohol for six days, and not the years and years that he has steadfastly boasted.

“For me, that’s a miracle,” he said. “I’ve been lying to everybody else that thinks I was sober, but I’m not. This is my sixth day. I’m never gonna use again.”

Tyson won the heavyweight title at 20 years old, becoming heavyweight champ in history to win the WBC, WBA and IBF titles; he still holds that distinction. Tyson also won his first 19 bouts by knockouts, 12 of them in the first round.
