TMZ is reporting reality TV star Khloe Kardashian has met with her estranged husband Lamar Odom and is desperately "trying to save his life" by helping him overcome a spiraling drug addiction.
According to TMZ, after more than 72 hours of being reported missing and not responding to overtures from his family, Kardashian was able to speak with her NBA husband on Monday and immediately drove to see him at an undisclosed location.
The website adds Odom has been on hardcore drugs for at least the last two years with crack cocaine reportedly being his drug of choice. According to TMZ, with the aid of his wife, Odom checked into a San Diego-based drug treatment center last year but abruptly left the facility after just three weeks of treatment.
During that time, the 29-year-old Kardashian allegedly hired a private investigator to stand guard outside her husband's room in an effort to keep him from leaving, according to TMZ.
Amazingly, Odom was able to play in all 82 games for the Los Angeles Clippers last season without any reported relapses, but after the season ended TMZ reports "he slipped deep back into hardcore recreational drugs."
It's been a summer of discontent for Odom, whose marriage is rumored to be on the rocks amid growing allegations of infidelity on his part, according to TMZ. The website has previously reported that over the last several weeks, 29-year-old Washington stripper Jennifer Richardson and California attorney Polina Polonsky have both claimed they engaged in longtime affairs with him.
