Read any press release from the Premier League, there's no hesitation to remind you it's the biggest league in the world. The TV audience for games "is 4.7 billion" and the centralized income annually from broadcasts are £1.2 million.

One easy answer is the product on the field. The Premier League is home to the likes of Sergio Aguero, Eden Hazard and David Silva, but where have the league's most transcendent players migrated to?

La Liga.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez, Gareth Bale and Luke Modric all left for greener pastures. Even the FIFPro Best XI has been dominated by Spanish and German contingents on a yearly basis.
Clearly the money is England, but the prestige is elsewhere.
Is It The Big Clubs?
Ask 100 people to rank the top three clubs in the world. Not a single one would mention a Premier League side. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich -- and to some extent Paris Saint-Germain -- have all surpassed England's elite.

All four Premier League clubs failed to reach the quarterfinals of the 2014-15 Champions League. Only one managed to claim a victory in Matchday 1 of this season's campaign. La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A were all represented in the last three finals.

Is It The Parity?
Which brings us to our last point, parity. It's easier for other European clubs to dominate in Champions League because it's difficult to compete in the Premier League. The Premier League isn't like other leagues, where the same club dominates year in and year out.

Except it is.
In the last 10 years, the Premier League has only crowned three different champions (Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea). The same goes for La Liga (Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid). The same goes for Serie A (Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus).
Even the Bundesliga managed to crown more champions than the Premier League the last 10 seasons (Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, VfB Stuttgart and VfL Wolfsburg).
What parity exists when the same three clubs are crowned champions at season's end?
Conclusion
The reality is it's all a matter of preference. The Premier League is preferred by most of the population, but not because it's above La Liga, Bundesliga or Serie A.
You're just brainwashed by its saturated coverage to believe it is.
