Floyd Mayweather Rumors: Andre Berto Says Showtime Took a Loss On PPV, Expected 'Money' To Be Better [VIDEO]

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is nicknamed "Money" for a reason. He was guaranteed more than $30 million before ever stepping into the ring on Sept. 12 vs. Andre Berto for a pay-per-view fight that generated little buzz, and was a dud at the box office. So when the MGM Grand was scrambling to unload thousands of tickets, and buy numbers came in at a reported 400,000 units, Mayweather doesn't feel a thing.

His opponent, Berto, said Showtime likely took a bath with this fight.

"They probably did take a loss," Berto said. "I mean of course they took a loss because they have to pay Mayweather so much money. They have to guarantee him a certain amount no matter who he fights. So they took a lot of losses in his past fights because they have to guarantee him a certain amount."

Berto seemed to be taking a jab at himself, and his own drawing power. Mayweather was ridiculed for choosing Berto, loser of three of his last six fight, as his next opponent over the likes of Amir Khan or Keith "One-Time" Thurman. Berto said that for someone who bills himself as "TBE," or "The Best Ever," he expected much more from the pound-for-pound king.

"I thought there was going to be more. At the end of the day, when you're in there talking that talk, saying this and that, you're TBE and your last fight, the last situation that he had with Manny Pacquiao was pretty disappointing so I thought he was going to come with it," Berto said.

Berto is also claiming that he made more than $4 million for fighting Mayweather, despite what has been reported.

"They keep talking about its $4 million that I was guaranteed. We got more than $4 million so I don't know where they're getting their information from. But like I said my guarantee was a lot more than $4 million."
