Pirates Postseason Celebration: Rockies Help Bucs Commemorate Playoff Berth, After Losing To Them [PHOTO, VIDEO]

The Pirates are off to the postseason for the third straight season and the Rockies -- the club they trounced to clinch their berth -- are thrilled about it, apparently.

Pittsburgh decimated Colorado, the sort of 13-7 shellacking most clubs would like to forget about, but the Rockies decided to keep it classy and help the Pirates celebrate their playoff berth. The ass-kissing (ahem, celebrating) included an arrangement of champagne glasses in the shape of a 'P' with a Pirates' postseason cap laid out on a table.

The Bucs overcame a 20-year playoff drought in 2013, and have appeared in the MLB postseason each of the past three years, but the celebration of clinching a berth will be short-lived. The club faces the sobering reality of likely playing in a third consecutive Wild Card Game.

The Pirates defeated the Reds in the do-or-die game in 2013 before bowing out to the eventual NL champion Cardinals.

Last year, Pittsburgh hosted the Wild Card Game again, but was blanked by San Francisco, 8-0, marking a swift and unforgiving end to the postseason push. The Giants, like the Cardinals before them, went on to play in the World Series, and won the title for the third time in five years.

Pittsburgh (92-60) owns the second best record in baseball, but unfortunately plays in the same division as the MLB's best club. The Cardinals (95-56) occupy first in the NL Central with a four-game lead, so the celebrating may be on, but there's still work to do for the Pirates.

The club also owns a three-game lead on Chicago (89-63), whom they'd host in the Wild Card Game if the season ended Thursday.

As for the Rockies (63-89) they're well on their way to continuing a miserable playoff drought of their own, reaching the sixth postseason-less year in 2015. At least they're classy about it.

Cheers to hopes of avoiding 14 more, Colorado.
