FanDuel Strategy NFL Week 4: Best Bargains At Each Position To Stock Up On Star Players

Trying to get rich quick on Fanduel? The best way to cash on weekly fantasy football sites is to load up on as many stars with good matchups as possible. Due to budget restraints, however, fantasy players must sacrifice other positions to nab the stars they want.

Here, you'll find the top bargains at each position that will let you splurge elsewhere.

Best Bargains At Each Position On Draft Kings

Quarterbacks

1. Brandon Weeden, Cowboys ($6,400): Weeden was not bad vs. the Falcons last week. He only threw five incomplete passes, and while he didn’t throw any touchdowns, that was more a product of the running game dominating. New Orleans has the second-worst pass defense in the NFL through three weeks, so expect Weeden to take more chances.

2. Jimmy Clausen, Bears ($5,700): Clausen is not good. However, he made it through a start in Seattle without throwing any interceptions, and he is facing the 30th-ranked pass defense of the Raiders. Clausen is not going to light it up, but he could provide a nice 15-18 points while allowing you to draft monsters elsewhere.

Best Waiver Wire Pickups For Week 4

3. Blake Bortles, Jaguars ($6,800): Bortles stinks, but he has a great matchup, and since the Colts will probably torch Jacksonville, he’ll throw a lot.

Running Backs

1. Ameer Abdullah, Lions ($6,100): Abdullah is an explosive talent, and even though he’s much smaller than Joique Bell, he’s equally capable of scoring touchdowns. The Seattle matchup looks bad, but if you’ve been paying attention, you know that the Seahawks D has taken a step back. And if you haven’t been paying attention, that’s what I’m for!

2. C.J. Spiller, Saints ($5,500): Dallas is ranked 29th against running backs in the passing game. That stat, coupled with Sean Payton’s determination to get Spiller more involved in the offense, is a recipe for a bargain.

3. Todd Gurley, Rams ($5,900): The matchup vs. Arizona is tough, but coming off such a thorough beat down of the 49ers, they have to regress a bit. Gurley didn’t show much in his debut, but to get such an incredible talent at this price is worth a gamble against a questionable matchup.

Wide Receivers

1. Allen Robinson, Jaguars ($6,500): Robinson is the best bet to have a good game for Jacksonville this week. The Colts have a weak pass defense, and Andrew Luck should have his way with the Jags, meaning Bortles will have to throw to keep up. While Bortles has big bust potential, whatever production he does manage will probably be because of Robinson.

2. James Jones, Packers ($6,000): Davante Adams aggravated an injured ankle on Monday night, which leaves Jones, who is completely risen from the fantasy grave, as Green Bay’s No. 2 wide receiver. The increase in targets will lead to the yardage that was missing from his touchdown-heavy stat lines. Jones matters every week now.

3. Steve Johnson, Chargers ($5,800): Cleveland’s pass defense is strong, but according to FootballOutsiders.com, they struggle with guys in the slot. Johnson lines up there quite a bit, and has only failed to score a touchdown once in three games.

Tight Ends

1. Martellus Bennett, Bears ($5,500): Bennett is a strong option, even with Jimmy Clausen under center. The Raiders pass defense is terrible, and their especially bad (30th in the NFL) against tight ends.

2. Charles Clay, Bills ($5,200): Don’t be surprised if Clay finds the end zone for a third straight week. The Giants’ linebackers can’t stay with him, and they’ll have extra time to prepare, but will spend it scheming up ways to keep Tyrod Taylor in the pocket, not stopping Clay.

3. Eric Ebron, Lions ($5,100): Ebron is a part of their pass offense, and at 0-3 they will be desperate, and pass-happy. Denver’s lone weak spot is guarding tight ends, and Ebron is a budding Jimmy Graham-esque player.
