UFC 2015 Rumors: Daniel Cormier Wants Jon Jones Next [VIDEO]

Daniel Cormier is living up to his end of the bargain, holding fort and taking on any challenger thrown at him by the UFC.

His triumph at UFC 192 over Alexander Gustaffson was of course close but when the smoke cleared, he was still the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. So on to the next opponent.

Right now there is no word on who DC will face next though the only person on his mind right now is Jon ‘Bones’ Jones.

Jones is still under indefinite suspension after being tied up to a hit-and-run charge that led to his arrest back in April. He was likewise stripped of the title, the same one that Cormier is currently holding.

Jones was eventually sentenced to 18 months of probation and now the UFC is closely looking into the terms of his plea agreement before moving forward.

Jones apparently saw that fight between DC and Gustaffson and had posted something on Instagram before deleting it. The post said “I think I miss it. I don’t know."

Judging by those words, it seems Bones wants back in. But of course it will have to go through the usual process before such can happen.

With these developments, there is wide belief that Jones is due to be reinstated at any time. And among the people surely monitoring this is Cormier who is aching to get payback on Bones for dealing him his lone defeat back in January.

This also means that other potential challengers like Ryan Bader will have to wait for their turn. Until the Cormier-Jones tussle is settled, all other fighters in the division will be playing second fiddle.

"(Bader) has by far earned a title shot, but with that being said, if Jones is ready to go, I'm ready to go," Cormier said on "UFC Tonight". "This is the fight I want to be involved in, this is the fight the fans want to see and this is the biggest fight the UFC could put together."
