Sidney Crosby said he was "locked in" to Wednesday's Game 5 between the Blue Jays and Rangers, but he should really focus on getting his team out of its current early-season malaise.
Crosby, a Canadian, is rooting for Toronto to go all the way and had no problems with Jose Bautista's infamous bat flip during the club's crazy 6-3 victory, which clinched its first trip to the ALCS in 1993.
"You've got 50,000 people at home, with a home run like that, that's just pure emotion," Crosby said via The Star. "I don't think he was trying to show anybody up. We've all been in different situations. That was pretty exciting. If there was a time for one, that would probably be it."
Bautista's bat flip wasn't enjoyed by everyone, as the Rangers and some fans around the league didn't take kindly to his antics. Crosby knows a thing or two about dealing with hate, as he's earned a reputation of being referred to as a crybaby from players and fans around the league.

Crosby might be drawing the ire of some of his own fans these days, with the Penguins off to an 0-3-0 start to the 2015-16 season. Pittsburgh was blanked by the Stars, 3-0, on Opening Night and then lost one-goal games to the Coyotes and Canadiens. The latter defeat came in their home-opener.
The offense has been lethargic during the early run of this season as the Penguins scored just three goals in their first three games. Crosby, 28, has been a big contributing factor in the ineptness of the offense, as the captain hasn't recorded a single point this season. Crosby had four goals and seven points through the first three contests last season.
This is not quite what Pittsburgh envisioned when it traded for Phil Kessel, to add to a potential three-headed scoring monster along with Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. After a disappointing first-round exit against the Rangers in five games last postseason, the shortcomings have continued in the new season.
With the Blue Jays advancing to face the Royals in the ALCS, Crosby's attention may continue to linger to baseball.
Perhaps it's best if he just concentrates on hockey and fixing the woes of his team.
