Ryan Bader Next Fight: UFC Star Wants His Title Shot Against DC Cormier [VIDEO]

DC Cormier is waiting in the wings to see who his next opponent will be and from the looks of it, the UFC wants Jon Jones to be that guy.

The thing is, that can't happen for now since Jones is still on indefinite suspension. "Bones" was banned after a hit-and-run issue back in April, though the former UFC champion may have escaped possible jail time with his plea agreement.

Apparently this is something that the UFC is looking into since Jones could be reinstated depending on how the fighter's’ probation goes.

The reason for this is of course Cormier himself wants a rematch with Jones. "Bones" was responsible for the lone loss of DC back in January and apparently the champ wants another crack at Jones.

However, one man begs to disagree. Ryan Bader made a good account for himself at UFC 192 when he defeated a returning Rashad Evans, which should technically make him a contender for Cormier’s crown.

That chance however will have to wait since the UFC seems to be more inclined to book a Cormier-Jones match, which technically will be a bigger draw. But if he were to be asked, he believes that it should be him vying for the UFC light heavyweight title first instead of Jones. Unfortunately that is not his call and the best thing he can do right now is wait.

“That’s the thing, there are so many variables," said Bader via Submission Radio.  "I don’t know. The variables that I can control were Rashad, going out there and beating Rashad....We’re waiting on Jon Jones’ situation. So there’s really not much I can do. But as of my mindset right now, I’m fighting Daniel Cormier, and we’re seeing what’s going to happen with Jones."

It isn’t the best situation for Bader right now and ultimately it will be up to the UFC to decide. But of course, the UFC cannot hold Bader off for that long so he is expected to get his shot soon.
