Jon Jones Next Fight: Daniel Cormier Beef Resumes On Twitter, 'Bones' Still 'Real' Champ [VIDEO]

Jon “Bones” Jones has been through a lot this year. His reputation was tarnished by a failed drug test (cocaine), and then he was suspended indefinitely and stripped of his UFC light heavyweight title for committing a hit-and-run that left a pregnant woman injured. It’s a sad story, but it can’t generate much pity from current champ Daniel Cormier.

Jones beat Cormier in Januray, and in the buildup the two men proved their animosity was very real. They brawled at a press conference, and had a legendary back-and-forth exchange via headsets when they thought their microphones were off. Their fight was one of the most highly-anticipated bouts in UFC history. Now, they look like their angling for a second one..

Will Daniel Cormier Be Shopworn By The Time He Faces Jones Again?

Typically, pre-fight insults are done away with once a fight ends. The combatants show sportsmanship, and chalk it up to selling a fight. In the closing seconds of Jones’ win over Cormier, he made a lewd “Suck it” gesture to Cormier, who had clearly lost the fight. There was no love lost. Twitter is proving that the scenario hasn’t changed.

Move To Heavyweight Inevitable For Bones?

Jones posted a subliminal tweet at Cormier, who said he plans on a lengthy absence from the Octagon following brutal fights with Jones, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, and Alexander Gustafsson.

Cormier, never one to back off, dredged up Jones’ personal troubles in response.

And yet, the #AndStill hashtag has to burn. Cormier is the champion, but Jones is the UFC pound-for-pound king. Cormier never beat Jones for the title, and some naysayers don’t consider Cormier the “real” champ. These two men sure seem like they are hyping a second fight to settle the score.
