Adrien Broner Next Fight: Amir Khan Vs. 'The Problem' If Marcos Maidana, Devon Alexander Cooperate? [VIDEO]

Amir Khan has been mentioned as a possible opponent for Floyd Mayweather Jr. because of his fast hands and accuracy, but he has a bout with Devon Alexander coming up that is far from a given victory.

Khan's resume has some holes in it as well, most notably recent losses to Danny Garcia and Lamont Peterson. While Khan's clamored for a Mayweather bout for some time, he may need to prove himself more, even if he tops Alexander.

Enter Adrien Broner, who is expected to headline his first pay-per-view card in December against Marcos Maidana, who has lost to Khan before. Broner's been compared to Mayweather for the brash way he carries himself outside the ring, as well as his defensive approach in it.

"I'd love to fight Broner. I think it would be a great fight. He has to get past Maidana, which is a tough task for him...the winner of that fight could be a possibility as well."

While a fight with Broner would certainly make for an entertaining matchup, Khan appears to be a frontrunner for a date with Floyd provided he can best Alexander. While his qualifications might say a match with Broner makes more sense, there's little chance Khan would turn down a dream matchup with the Mayweather money machine.

Showtime's boxing boss Stephen Espinoza has already discussed Khan as a potential opponent. "Amir Khan, who's out there, is a possibility, and I think that's interesting just because of the speed," Espinoza said. "We saw that strength isn't the answer. But speed and precision, which Khan has in spades, maybe that's the answer."

Some would prefer Broner made the leap to take on his "big bro" Mayweather, but so far he has stated repeatedly he'd never step in the ring with Floyd. "My big brother got his legacy, I got mine. I want to see him retire undefeated. I don't want to hand him a loss."
