Colin Kaepernick Rumors: Aldon Smith Has Last Laugh, 49ers Deserting Their Quarterback [VIDEO]

Colin Kaepernick is having a bad season, but you know it’s real bad when Aldon Smith is taking shots on social media. Smith, banished by the 49ers during the preseason for an alleged hit-and-run, is now playing for the surprisingly competent Raiders while Kaepernick is taking weekly beatings in the media.

The 49ers were brutalized by the Seahawks on Thursday night, and on Sunday Fox’s Jay Glazer reported that Kaepernick’s confidence has evaporated, and his relationship with his teammates is non-existent.

"His confidence is completely shot," Glazer said on Sunday. "It's not that (the players) don't like him. But he's just alone, on an island in that locker room. There's not a lot of people he connects with. Confidence-wise he's just buried right now."

His season has certainly been a roller coaster. In four of the 49ers’ seven games Kaepernick has failed to throw a single touchdown pass, and in Week three he totaled just 67 yards, while throwing four picks, in a 47-7 drubbing vs. the Cardinals. Kaepernick also might be feeling some shade for allegedly stealing Smith’s girlfriend last year, which was rumored to have caused an altercation between them last season.

So when Glazer’s report came out, Smith tweeted this:

Smith has been impactful this season, notching 18 total tackles and 1 ½ sacks for the Raiders, who at 3-3, are second in the AFC West and own road victories over the Browns and Chargers.

It’s not all bad for Kaepernick though. Against lesser defenses he’s managed to string together a few positive outings, and Glazer also reported the 49ers aren’t planning to kick him to the curb.

"They can move on from him at the end of the year provided he is not injured. That's not the team's mindset. They look at him and say, 'This is the same guy that took us to the Super Bowl.'"
