Arizona Cardinals Rumors: Getting Shot Has Helped Chris Johnson Run Faster [VIDEO]

Not even bullets can stop Chris Johnson right now.

The Cardinals running back was shot in the shoulder in a drive-by shooting in March, but he's having a tremendous year on the football field. Johnson exploded for 122 yards on 18 attempts and rumbled into the end zone in the Cardinals' 26-18 victory over the Ravens on "Monday Night Football."

Johnson worked hard to get back in shape for the season, even with a bullet left in his arm.

"Bullets tend to get in the way of success a lot of times, usually you don't want a bullet in you when you play in the NFL," Jay Glazer, who helpe train the running back over the summer, told TMZ Sports. "I have to give him credit, he came into [the Unbreakable Performance Center in Los Angeles] with the bullet still in the shoulder, lodged against a nerve."

That's right, CJ2K worked out with his arm in a sling, the bullet lodged in his shoulder and focused on working out his lower body.

"Literally he started working out with the bullet still lodged in his shoulder," Glazer said.

The offseason dedication has paid off for Johnson thus far this season as his legs have netted 567 yards through the first seven weeks of the season and he has already scored three touchdowns.

Glazer refused to take any credit for Johnson's tremendous season to thus far, and said that the running back only has himself to thank. He also said they put Johnson through a "dark time" in hopes he'd come out the other side a different guy, and it has worked.

Johnson has helped lead the Cardinals to a 5-2 record, good enough for first place in the NFC West.

Glazer believes Johnson deserves all the accolades he can get.

"[He's] the Comeback Player of the Year," Glazer said. "And not just the fact he's gotten shot, the fact that literally, this guy, he's a harder runner now, and a tougher runner and a more violent runner now than he has been in his entire career."
