Patrick Kane Investigation Update: Acquittal Looms In Blackhawks Winger's Rape Case

The rape case involving Blackhawks right winger Patrick Kane is back in the limelight and based on the latest report from the Buffalo News, the 26-year-old hockey star is likely to be acquitted of criminal charges.

It was back in August when Kane was accused by a woman of rape at his home in Hamburg, N.Y.

But in a bizarre twist of events, the controversial rape kit evidence shook the whole investigation involving the hockey star after allegedly being found at the house of the victim’s mother.

It would later on be learned that the bag alleged by the victim’s mother contained a shirt her daughter had worn which should have been given to authorities. Rather than doing so, the mother claimed that it was the actual rape kit. In all, the rape kit was never in the bag.

All this was compounded by the fact when the representing attorney (Thomas Eoannou) for the defendant chose to step back in what was termed as a misrepresentation.

No follow ups to the said case had been reported until now. With the turn of events, it looks like the case will not likely reach the grand jury and that the case will be administratively dismissed.

Kane had been dealing with this off-ice issue since Aug. 2, though the Blackhawks winger continued to play on in light of the sexual assault investigations.
