Los Angeles Lakers Moves: Lou Williams' Discipline In Question Following Leaked Tape Of Las Vegas Handcuffing [VIDEO]

Lakers coach Byron Scott turned heads by keeping rookie guard D’Angelo Russell glued to the bench while Lou Williams took the court in the fourth quarter vs. the Nuggets. It’s been a constant theme of the early part of this season, and has confused fans, and Russell, because Williams gives away as much on defense as much as he scores on offense.

There are also questions about Williams’ discipline arising after video of him being handcuffed and combative with Las Vegas police surfaced. In September, following Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s fight vs. Andre Berto at the MGM Grand, Williams was handcuffed and pushed against a squad car in front of The Cromwell hotel. Williams insists there was no wrongdoing on his part, while witnesses say Williams was in a fight with a “large man,” according to TMZ.

Byron Scott Is Already Alienating D'Angelo Russell

"Apparently there was an issue that [Lou] wasn't involved in, which is why they didn't arrest him,” Wallace Prather III, Williams agent, said. "If Lou was fighting in public in Las Vegas they would have arrested his ass ... he wasn't fighting anyone."

The footage will only be the latest embarrassment for the Lakers, once a proud franchise which has fallen on devastatingly hard times of late. Williams’ issue is far less embarrassing than the play of Lakers’ cornerstone Kobe Bryant, who appears to be at the end of his physical rope and sadly trying to fight it.

How Byron Scott Motivated Emmanuel Mudiay To Crush The Lakers

Bryant is averaging 15.8 points and shooting a woeful 32 percent from the field, including 20.6 percent from 3-point range. Their coach, Byron Scott, who famously scoffed at the importance of 3-pointers the year Stephen Curry won the MVP and took the Warriors to the NBA Finals, hasn’t won a game yet, is stunting the growth of their top pick, and is motivating other picks to play well with his inflammatory comments.

All is not well in Hollywood.
