Culpo began dating the singer in 2013 after they met at the Miss USA pageant, but their courtship came to an end in 2015. There were rumors that Jonas was going to pop the question at the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant, something which may have put a rift between them. Jonas wrote the song "Jealous" about Culpo and she even starred in the music video.
