Tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN, the rivalry between heavyweight fighters Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield will be tackled in ESPN’s latest '30 For 30' documentary, which can be live streamed free by clicking this link.
The flashpoint that will draw viewers is the “Bite Fight,” in which Tyson, who had already lost once to Holyfield, tried to turn the tide of their rematch by biting off a chunk of Holyfield’s ear in the ring. However, this documentary will shine a light on Holyfield’s career before that bout, which in many ways is as impressive and interesting as Tyson’s bombastic journey.

Holyfield is an Olympic bronze medalist, and a champion in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions. He has had classic battles with Tyson, Riddick Bowe, Larry Holmes, and Lennox Lewis, all icons of the last great era of heavyweight boxing.
Still, Holyfield was not fully appreciated until he fought Tyson, which is discussed in the documentary.

“For Holyfield it was a chance to get after somebody who had garnered the entire spotlight, who had taken away any accomplishment he had achieved, because no matter what Tyson did, it was going to get covered. No matter what Holyfield did, it was never going to be as big as Tyson,” Showtime commentator Jim Gray said.
