Adrien Broner Next Fight: Marcos Maidana Will 'Silence' Broner, Says 'The Problem' Too Small For Welterweight Division [VIDEO]

While many boxing fans believe the next interesting fight for Floyd Mayweather Jr., and perhaps the only interesting bout for him, is Adrien "The Problem" Broner, a brash young champion who is quickly rising up pound-for-pound ranks.

Broner's stated on many occasions he is not interested in facing his "big brother," however, and has other issues to contend with for the time being. In December Broner is headlining the first pay-per-view of his career against Marcos Maidana, a knockout artist with scary power who is hungry to build his name up like his countryman Lucas Matthysse did.

Maidana thinks he has the goods to topple the undefeated Broner. "He talks a lot but I'm going to silence him," Maidana said. "Of course it's a difficult fight, but for both of us-because he came up two weight divisions and that's not going to be beneficial to him. It's going to be a problem for him."

Broner is a titlist already as a welterweight, defeating Paulie Malignaggi in his first ever fight in the weight class. Malignaggi does not possess the power that Maidana does, however, and even Paulie is saying Maidana could be dangerous.

Malignaggi told Maidana as much saying, "I hit him easy but you're more of a puncher than me, you're going to put him in trouble."

Sebastian Contursi, Maidana's advisor, told Boxingscene.com that he predicted Malignaggi would beat Broner when they fought in Brooklyn because he doesn't think "The Problem" is suited for welterweight.

"I predicted that Malignaggi would present problems for Broner, although most thought it would be an easy for Adrien," Contursi said. "Broner is physically small for the division. And knowing Maidana, he will be really focused for the fight because he has to win. It's a huge commitment for him, but a win opens a lot of doors."
