The San Diego Chargers may be a thing of the past. But the San Diego Raiders may be a thing of the future.
Raiders owner Marc Davis says he would consider moving his franchise from Oakland to San Diego if the team's plans of moving to Los Angeles fall through, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.

"I'm open to anything," Davis said when asked about possible franchise relocation scenarios.
Apparently, Davis has been eyeing San Diego for some time.
"Multiple sources, in fact, have said Davis has made it known San Diego is an option," the Union-Tribune reported. "Certainly the league noticed when Raiders fans overwhelmed Qualcomm Stadium for their team's Oct. 25 game against the Chargers."

The Raiders-Chargers stadium plans for Carson, Calif., received a huge boost recently when Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger agreed to oversee the construction of that venue, CBS Sports reported. However, the two teams still don't have enough votes secured yet from the league's 32 owners to make the move.
NFL rules maintain that a franchise must secure votes from three-fourths of the owners to approve relocation. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora believes the teams have 16-20 votes, which is why Davis is looking at contingency plans for the Raiders.
The Chargers and San Diego are at odds where a new stadium would be built that would allow the franchise to stay. The team wants a downtown facility, while the city wants to build a stadium in Mission Valley, where Qualcomm Stadium is situated, CBS Sports reported.
Chargers owner Dean Spanos has been vocal in saying that if his team leaves, San Diego would never get another NFL franchise, but that might not be the case, according to the Union-Tribune.
"After (relocation), you're going to have markets that are available," said Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay. "We've seen it before in this league where teams have shifted and restructured. ... If someone doesn't end up in L.A., they may have an opportunity to do something somewhere else."
