Jameis Winston News: Winston to Sue CNN If They Run Documentary On College Rapes [VIDEO]

The story that just won't go away is the Jameis Winston rape allegations. Now, CNN is going to show a documentary on the incident called "The Hunting Ground" which will be shown on their network tomorrow night according to ESPN.

The documentary will focus on the rape allegations made by former Florida State co-ed Erica Kinsmen. Kinsmen alleged that Winston raped her while he was the quarterback of the Seminoles.

The school had an investigation and a hearing and found Winston innocent of all charges, but that did not stop Kinsmen from filing a civil suit against Winston; he has countersued her.

But Winston's lawyers have said if CNN goes ahead with the documentary, they will be sued as well.

"We are writing to formally caution CNN that the portions of the film 'The Hunting Ground' pertaining to Mr. Winston are false and defamatory to Mr. Winston," said the letter from Winston's attorney to CNN, which was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

"We urge CNN to reconsider the reckless decision to proceed with the broadcast of this deeply-flawed documentary in the face of the overwhelming evidence the film's producers consciously and intentionally failed to adhere to any accepted journalistic standards."

At this point, CNN has not responded to Winston's lawyers and most likely won't. They are in their right to make this documentary because Winston is a public figure and there is really nothing they can do about it. The biggest problem outside the rape allegations themselves that really  upset the general public, was the way the school and the Tallahassee Police Department handled the incident.

According to a story done by the New York Times, the TPD did not interview Winston and  neither did the DA after the incident took place, which many called a botched investigation.

Winston has been a model citizen since joining the NFL, but this documentary will not help his new image at all.
