Paige WWE Rumors: Momentum Of Heel Turn Spoiled In Tap Out To Charlotte At 'Survivor Series' [VIDEO]

Paige was building some serious momentum as a new heel, then she once again was booked to tap out.

Charlotte successfully defended her WWE Divas Championship against the Norwich, England native at Survivor Series on Sunday. Paige losing the bout wasn't a problem, especially since Charlotte has only held the gold for two months, but tapping out yet again has caused a serious downfall in Paige's momentum.

WWE RAW Spoilers & Preview

The two-time Divas Champion was starting to break out from the pack during the Divas Revolution with her change of character, but tapping out cleanly in the middle of the ring to the champion has to hurt her standing in the WWE's pecking order. Now that she's lost to Charlotte, what can possibly be next for Paige?

The feud could very well continue, but when the No. 1 contender for the gold is forced to tap, it seems like someone else should be deserving of a crack at the title. Therein lays the problem with the WWE's creative team, a lack of long-term direction.

WWE Survivor Series Results & Review

By the way they built up the storyline, Charlotte had to win to avenge what Paige said about her late brother Reid on Monday Night RAW last week. However, the way she dominated Paige into submission wasn't a smart way to book the outcome if the WWE has any plans on continuing the feud.

In one match, Paige went from a credible threat to the throne to just another Diva lost in the shuffle. The WWE also booked Paige curiously when they had her tap out to Natalya just a week after turning heel. The WWE has plenty of options for Charlotte going forward, but the same can't be said for Paige.

Ric Flair's daughter could feud with any of the members of Team B.A.D., or maybe even have a friendly rivalry with Becky Lynch. Paige, however, seems as though she lost some serious momentum with the defeat.

Thus far, the Divas Revolution has been more about hype than execution, and the WWE just jobbed out one of its most compelling characters.
