Pittsburgh Steelers Rumors: Jerome Bettis Coin Toss Call Among The Best NFL Thanksgiving Moments [VIDEO]

Much like capitalism, the NFL will continue its assault on Thanksgiving this Thursday.

Three NFC loaded games will kickstart Week 12, with the Panthers visiting the Cowboys serving as the league’s marquee matchup. The Lions will host the Eagles in the early afternoon -- allowing you to help in the kitchen without any regret -- while the Packers battle the Bears for the umpteenth time.

The Steelers Don’t Need Tim Tebow To Back Up Ben Roethlisberger

More football means more opportunities to make memorable moments on Thanksgiving.

Below are the five that still live in infamy.

Kordell Stewart Wants Money For Being Called Gay

The Coin Toss (1998)

Sixty minutes weren’t enough for the Steelers and Lions in 1998. One side of the coin wasn’t enough for Jerome Bettis.

Charged with calling a side of the coin for Pittsburgh, the Steelers RB began to utter the word “heads” before changing his mind to tails. Referee Phil Luckett wasn’t having it, instructing that “heads” was the call.

The Lions won the toss, received the ball and went on to capture a 19-16 victory.

Randy Moss’ Revenge (1998)

Not to be outdone in 1998, Randy Moss created a memorable moment of his own. Still upset with the Cowboys for bypassing him in the 1998 NFL draft, Moss torched Dallas with three receptions for 163 yards and three TDs.

Ndamukong Suh Stomp (2011)

Ndamukong Suh was considered a likeable NFL personality when he was drafted in 2010.

It only took him one-and-a-half seasons to bring that likeable personality into question.

Leon Lett (1993)

As if the snow and sleet in Dallas weren't puzzling enough, Leon Lett provided the second-greatest blunder in Thanksgiving Day history.

Trailing 14-13 with 15 seconds left, the Cowboys blocked Miami’s 41-yard FG. All that was required for a victory was to leave the ball alone. Leon Lett clearly wasn’t about that life.

The Butt Fumble (2012)

Mark Sanchez could cure cancer, he’ll still be remembered for the most infamous fumble in NFL history.
