New England Patriots News: Steve Young Classic Reaction To Ray Lewis Favoring Rex Ryan Over Bill Belichick [VIDEO]

Ray Lewis has said some outlandish things. Heck, Ray Lewis has done some outlandish things.

So it should come as no shock when his response to a question about whom he rather have as a head coach almost made fellow "Monday Night Football" analyst Steve Young burst into a fit of laughter.

The former Ravens star middle linebacker argued that he'd much rather have Bills coach Rex Ryan as his coach than Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

It should be noted that Ryan and Lewis spent 10 years together in Baltimore -- Ryan was the Ravens' defensive line coach from 1999-2004 and their defensive coordinator from 2005-08 before moving on to the Jets as their head coach -- and won two Super Bowls together, albeit with Ryan as an assistant.

"I'm not choosing nobody else but Rex Ryan," Lewis said. "If you're asking me Bill Belichick or Rex Ryan, I'm taking Rex Ryan all day because Rex relates to players as well as myself more like a father."

Lewis' impassioned remark -- before the Patriots' 20-13 victory over the Buffalo on Monday night gave New England a 10-0 record this season -- was met with a restrained smirk on the face of Young, a former Super Bowl-winning quarterback with the 49ers, according to a Twitter post.

Young's amusement over Lewis' response just might be the fact that Belichick has been to six Super Bowls with New England, winning four, and guiding the NFL's latest dynasty for the last 14 years.

"Bill Belichick is probably the best coach in the history of football," CBS Sports' Will Brinson says. "If you're picking between the two, there's no comparison. You go with Belichick, you soak in the knowledge and you win the Super Bowls.

"I'm currently making the same face Steve Young made in response and you should be too."
