Tom Wilson may soon be scoring off the ice.
The Capitals forward has engaged in an online flirtation with actress/singer Selena Gomez through his Instagram account, according to the New York Post. The situation began to unfold when Capitals center Brooks Laich's fiancée, actress Julianne Hough, introduced Wilson and Gomez to each other.

Since then, they've been "liking" each other's Instagram posts constantly and Wilson's followers have even gotten in on the action. One of the 6-foot-4 right winger's recent posts showed him celebrating with his Capitals teammates after a goal and the first few comments are all about him being linked to Gomez.
"Date Selena she LOWKEY stalked you," one user wrote. "Someone's got a crush @selenagomez."

Another user called Wilson a "lucky b---h," while another said "Selena stalked you."
Gomez, 23, has dated Justin Bieber in the past, but it looks like she now has a crush on the hockey star. There is one problem, however, as Wilson, 21, is dating 22-year-old Canadian volleyball star Taylor Pischke, according to the Post.
On the ice, the Toronto native plays a fourth line role for the Capitals and has a goal, five assists and six points on the season, while racking up 39 penalty minutes. Washington is 17-5-1 thus far with 35 points and sits one point behind the Rangers (17-6-2, 36 points) for first place in the Metropolitan Division.
Wilson could be right up Gomez's alley, since she recently told the Post she can't date older gentleman and the Capitals forward is two years younger than her.
"I look 16 sometimes, which is a bummer because I would love to date older guys," she said.
She could be dating a younger guy soon enough if social media is any indication.
