Ben Roethlisberger Injury Update: Steelers QB Is Playing Dumb On Having A Concussion [VIDEO]

Concussed Ben Roethlisberger is trying to convince anyone who will listen that he doesn't have a head injury. The only problem is he has a head injury.

Big Ben is playing dumb when it comes to the severity of his ailment after he took himself out of Sunday's game against the Seahawks in Seattle. Pittsburgh went on to lose the game, 39-30, and with his team entrenched in a battle for playoff positioning, Roethlisberger is trying to downplay the injury.

Giants Coach Tom Coughlin May Already Be Leaving Town

Mike Tomlin and his staff aren't willing to shake off the injury as quickly as the quarterback. According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Roethlisberger said he'd play through any injury except for one to his brain, but he denied the fact that he had a concussion.

Tomlin disagreed with Roethlisberger's self-diagnosis of a traumatic ocular migraine, and it was later revealed through tests that the two-time Super Bowl champion in fact had a concussion.

Tom Brady, Patriots Bitter Over Officiating

Roethlisberger has been banged up a lot this season, missing four games earlier in the year due to a sprained MCL and bone bruise and later suffering a left mid-foot sprain, leading him to be relegated to backup duty against the Browns on Nov. 15.

Despite his latest setback, the three-time Pro Bowler was previously planning on suiting up when the Steelers take on the Colts Sunday night at Heinz Field. His status remains up in the air, but the Steelers signal caller is playing dumb with the injury.

The Steelers (6-5) are on the outside looking in on a playoff berth and are competing with the Jets (6-5), Raiders (5-6) and Bills (5-6) for one of the final two spots. The Chiefs and Texans are 6-5 and own the final two playoff spots in the AFC entering Week 13.

Every game matters, but Roethlisberger needs to face facts. He has a concussion.
