Many familiar faces changed teams as multiple deals took place with the Diamondbacks, Braves, Cubs and Yankees all getting involved in trades.

Here are the winners and losers from a wild day of deals at the winter meetings.

Best Holiday Deals On Jerseys For The Sports Fan In Your Life

Winners

1) Braves

Atlanta took home a king's ransom when they dealt Shelby Miller to the Diamondbacks. In return, the Braves landed shortstop Darby Swanson, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 MLB draft, pitcher Aaron Blair and outfielder Ender Inciarte. The deal is still pending medicals, but if and when it becomes official, Atlanta will fleece Arizona.

2) Yankees

Starlin Castro may be coming in off of a down year (.265 AVG/11 HR/69 RBIs), but New York didn't give away too much to get him and a switch to second base shores up its middle infield. The Yankees traded away Adam Warren (7-7, 3.29 ERA in 2015) and Brendan Ryan (.229/0 HR/11 RBIs) in hopes that a change of scenery will lead to a change in Castro's reputation of being lazy, especially since he's only 25.

3) Cubs

First, Chicago swooped in late and won the Ben Zobrist sweepstakes, signing him to a four-year contract, reportedly worth $56 million. Then, with the Zobrist move making Castro expendable, the Cubs dealt the shortstop to bring in Warren to bolster the bullpen and Ryan to add depth to their bench. All in all, it was a good evening for Cubs fans.

Losers

1) Diamondbacks

Don't get us wrong, a rotation spearheaded by a three-headed monster in Zack Greinke, Patrick Corbin and Miller makes Arizona an early favorite to win the NL West, but they gave up a lot to add a third-starter in Miller, who came along with minor league left-hander Gabe Speier.

After falling short on coaxing Jose Fernandez away from the Marlins, the Diamondbacks gambled their future for a chance to win now by dealing a solid outfielder, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft and a middle-of-the-rotation workhorse. If Arizona doesn't win it all soon, they may live to regret giving up so much for a guy who reached a career high with a 3.02 ERA in 2015.

The Rest

On minor notes, the Cardinals traded Jon Jay to the Padres for Jedd Gyorko and cash, while the Athletics dealt relief pitcher Evan Schribner to the Mariners for right-hander Trey Cochran-Gill.
