Russell Wilson is thriving on and off the field these days, but something may be holding him back from taking his relationship with his singer girlfriend to the next level -- Ciara herself.
Wilson, 27, has been dating Ciara, 30, since April, and despite the celebrity couple often sharing how madly in love they are with each other, the Seahawks quarterback has yet to propose. As a testament to their faith, the two lovebirds have decided to stay celibate before marriage, but they may have to keep that vow going for the long haul.

There have been rumors of a pending engagement, but Ciara said that her boyfriend is waiting for the right time to pop the question, which he hasn't found up to this point.
"It's all about time," Ciara told Entertainment Tonight. "Everything falls in perfect timing with the way it's supposed to."

So far, that timing hasn't happened yet, despite the two recently vacationing in Mexico. Though she presents a happy disposition and brags on about her "amazing" boyfriend, perhaps Ciara has cold feet about taking her relationship with Wilson to the next level.
The Seahawks quarterback appeared to struggle in balancing his relationship and his duties with Seattle earlier this season, but he has thrived on the gridiron the last few weeks. While his relationship also seems steady, Ciara could be deflecting the engagement talk to avoid getting to the truth.
"I feel very confident in the love that we have for each other, and only God knows where it's going to go," Ciara told Page Six. "God knows everything that's to come in the future, and I think it's best to let Him keep taking control of things. Life is sweet, and I'm very thankful for all the great things happening in my life. I'm very happy."
It hasn't been all roses for Ciara and Wilson. With the quarterback struggling earlier this year, many fans blamed his girlfriend and new found celebrity for his on-field issues. Then, there's Future, Ciara's rapper ex-finance, whom she has a kid, also named Future, with.
The rapper has made life hard for Ciara and Wilson, and even publicly hinted that he still has a sexual relationship with the "Dance Like We're Making Love" singer on social media.
Despite the distractions and Ciara's possible cold feet, she and Wilson seem to be happy again and a marriage and children are likely in the couple's future.
"I definitely [want more kids], yes," Ciara told People. "[Russell and I] discuss a lot of things ... a lot of good things."
But will they ever get engaged?
