Fantasy Football Keepers 2016: Best Value Players Heading Into Next Season [VIDEO]

The fantasy football playoffs are in full swing, but for many of those who missed the fantasy postseason – or even those forward thinkers who like to multitask – it’s time to think about next year.

Here are some of the top keepers that are likely to be kept on your roster for great values.

Best Bargains For Week 15 On Draft Kings

Quarterbacks

Jameis Winston, Buccaneers, Preseason ADP: 139- Winston entered the league with lots of question marks, but he has transformed the Bucs from a two-win club to a team with a potent passing offense that is near .500. With that ADP, he’s a no-brainer keeper because the upside is tremendous. He’s averaging 245 yards per game through the air, and he’s also added five rushing touchdowns, which is repeatable.

Marcus Mariota, Titans, Preseason ADP: 166- Mariota’s season has had ups and downs, but when he’s on fire there aren’t many quarterbacks in the sport with as much upside. Mariota has two games with four passing touchdowns, and six multi-touchdown games. As rookie WR Dorial Green-Beckham develops, and the Titans’ line improves, Mariota will brush up against the elite.

Top Waiver Wire Pickups For The Fantasy Football Playoffs

Blake Bortles, Jaguars, Preseason ADP: N/A- Boy was I wrong about Bortles this preseason. The Jags QB still has question marks as a franchise passer, but for fantasy he’s been gold. The Jags have surrounded him with excellent weapons in Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns and Julius Thomas, and it’s paid off. He’s averaged 272 yards a game and posted 10 multi-touchdown games. Keep him.

Running Backs

Devonta Freeman, Falcons, Preseason ADP: 112- Freeman’s tailed off badly during Atlanta’s losing streak, but at his peak he was blowing away the likes of Adrian Peterson. Freeman’s big yardage totals might have been a bit fluky, but he’s a threat on the ground and through the air, and Tevin Coleman didn’t show much in 2015.

Jeremy Langford, Bears, Preseason ADP: N/A- Langford took off when given his chance when Matt Forte was injured, and he all but assured himself a starting job in 2016. Chances are you drafted him with one of your last three picks, or picked him up in free agency. He’s a total steal, and a monster in PPR.

David Johnson, Cardinals, Preseason ADP: 146- It’s tough to know what Arizona will do with Andre Ellington and Chris Johnson going forward, but David Johnson has gotten the work with the other two out and performed. He’s put up 90-plus yards in back-to-back weeks and scored a receiving touchdown. Next season if he looks like he’ll be an 18-carry back, he’s worth a second-round pick.

Matt Jones, Redskins, Preseason ADP: 244- Jones puts the ball on the ground too much, but the team loves his speed and physicality, and next year Alfred Morris won’t be breathing down his neck. He’s an injury risk, but if he stays mostly healthy and gets even 15 carries a game he is going to be a wrecking ball.

Wide Receivers

Allen Hurns, Jaguars, Preseason ADP: 323- Hurns had a seven-game streak in which he scored a touchdown, and has shown a knack for making the most of his receptions. He isn’t the athletic freak that Allen Robinson is, but he’s just as responsible for Blake Bortles’ massive season. Hurns is one of the best value keepers in the entire sport.

Tavon Austin, Rams, Preseason ADP: 224- The Rams finally started figuring out how to unleash Austin, who was once a Top 10 pick. He has nine total touchdowns in 2015, and makes up for his inconsistent yardage with big plays.

Tight Ends

Gary Barnidge, Browns, Preseason ADP: N/A- Barnidge has been Gronkowski-esque this year, and he was almost certainly a free agent pickup. The No. 2 TE in fantasy has amassed 901 yards and eight scores while the Browns have toggled through Josh McCown, Johnny Manziel and Austin Davis at QB. He’s good.

Tyler Eifert, Bengals, Preseason ADP: 152- Eifert’s yardage has waned as the weeks wear on, but he continues to score touchdowns more often than not. Eifert is a total stud.
